The Sunup Initiative presents a free virtual film screening & discussion on Friday, October 30th, featuring Black in Appalachia’s The Corbin Expulsion of 1919 short film. William Isom, director of Black in Appalachia, and Matt O’Neal, a PhD student at the University of Georgia, will introduce the film and share their research. A panel discussion will follow. The event is sponsored by Sunup Initiative, the City of Corbin, the UK Appalachian Center, and the UK Cooperative for the Humanities and Social Sciences.
