The first meeting of the Root and Reed Collaborative will be held Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026 from 4 to 6 p.m. ET. This informal opportunity will allow people to meet one another, share ideas, talk about skills and interests and begin thinking together about what the group would like the collaborative to become.

Please note that no parking is specific for the building; marked spaces are reserved for board members. Please do not park in those spaces. Some street parking and permit parking cam be found around the building.

The meeting is intentionally flexible, so please feel free to come and go as your schedule allows. You do not need to stay for the entire two hours, and you are not expected to come with a specific project or presentation. We hope this first gathering will offer the opportunity to get to know one another and begin building relationships.

Root and Reed is intended to be a collaborative space, so we welcome your ideas about workshops, demonstrations, gatherings, community projects and other ways we might share and support traditional and contemporary fiber arts and related knowledge.
