The Immigrant Experience and Contribution in Appalachian Coalfields Special Collections Exhibit, Preceded by Poetry Reading

Please, join the UK Appalachian Center, Special Collections Library, and the Department of Modern and Classical Languages, Literatures, and Cultures for a very exciting Event as a part of the Arts & Sciences Year of Europe. This event is free for all UK Students, Faculty, and Staff and will be located in the M. I. King Special Collections Library on the 2nd floor on Thursday, March 3, 2016.  Italian language students will read selected poems from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.  This will be followed by an exhibit entilted The Immigrant Experience and Contribution in Appalachian Coalfields from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Light refreshements will be served.

 

UK Libraries to Digitize Appalachian Records of Public Health, Housing, Community Development

Thanks to a grant from the Council on Library and Information Resources, the UK Libraries Special Collections Research Center will begin a community-driven project to digitize records on public health, housing, and education in Appalachia.

'Reel to Real' Film Series Presents 'In Country'

As part of the "Reel to Reel" film series, the Special Collections library will show 'In Country' on November 19th at 7 pm in Worsham Theater.

UK Libraries 'Reimagine Russia's Realms' in Lecture, Exhibits

In celebration of University of Kentucky College of Arts and Sciences' year-long exploration into the culture and history of Russia, UK Libraries continues "Reimagining Russia's Realms" throughout the spring semester with new exhibits and programming: an audiology seminar and a display of rare postcards and posters from Soviet and pre-Soviet era Russia.
