Appalachian Forum - William Isom

As part of the "Appalachian Forum" series, the UK Appalachian Center will host a film screening and discussion with filmmaker, William Isom, Director of the "Black in Appalachia" project. Isom will be screening "Knoxville's Red Summer: Riot of 1919" on Monday, October 28, 2019 at 5:00 pm. The screening will be held at the William T. Young Library UKAA Auditorium. There will be a reception open to all UK students, faculty, staff and open to the community with free food to follow the event at the UK Appalachian Center - 624 Maxwelton Court. 

This programming is presented with support from the UK Office of Institutional Diversity Inclusive Excellence Student Program Grant.

Appalachian Forum- Jessica Wilkerson

Jessica Wilkerson visited UK to present "How Women Led Appalachian Movements for Social Justice" from 2:00-3:15PM at the William T. Young Library UKAA Auditorium on Thursday, March 21,2019. The Appalachian Center also hosted a special Coffee Hour with Jessica Wilkerson from 10-11AM on the 21st at the UK Appalachian Center - 624 Maxwelton Court!
